A fashionable gathering

Fashion designer Jane Wilson-Marquis opened the doors of her Manhattan boutique to celebrate the publication of “Ageless Bride.”

Jane Wilson-Marquis, the fashion designer who’s noted for her unique bridal creations, hosted a special event recently – and WAG was invited.

We first profiled the British-born, New York designer, known for her one-of-a-kind creations, following a visit to her Putnam Valley cottage for a September 2016 story. She was in the WAG spotlight again this past month, having opened the oliver + jane boutique with fellow Brit Adrian Littley of Oliver Littley custom menswear on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

We were there again on the evening of May 24, as Wilson-Marquis hosted Gigi Schilling for a party and book-signing event in honor of “Ageless Bride.”

The book explores how “famous designers dress, inspire and celebrate brides over 50” and includes designs from Betsey Johnson, Zac Posen, Isaac Mizrahi and others along with Schilling’s advice and observations.
The charming boutique was packed with a decidedly fashionable crowd, many sporting hats designed by New York milliner Ellen Christine, whose fascinator Schilling wears on the book cover.

We mixed and mingled, delighted to meet noted makeup and visual artist Linda Mason and to also catch up with man-about-town David Hochberg and Cold Spring jewelry designer Manya Tessler of Manya & Roumen. Profiled in our April issue, Manya & Roumen jewelry is now showcased at oliver + jane.

It was a lovely evening, and WAG offers congratulations all the way around.
