For underprivileged children with the disfiguring but highly correctable cleft palate, actress-producer Roma Downey has truly been an angel. As Operation Smile ambassador, the “Touched By An Angel” star has been all over the world raising awareness and money to help the underserved correct the condition. On Tuesday, March 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., she’ll appear at The Perfect Provenance boutique in Greenwich to sign copies of her new book, “Box of Butterflies” (Howard Books/Atria, $24.99), to benefit Operation Smile. It’s a story of loss and faith, transformation and transcendence.
“A butterfly begins its life as a simple caterpillar, creeping and crawling along the ground,” she writes. “And yet that is just its beginning. Through the process of metamorphosis, through the patience and darkness and the struggle of the cocoon, this little caterpillar emerges on the other side as a stunning butterfly, a creature with wings and the ability to fly.”
The $50 ticket includes the book. The Perfect Provenance is at 47 Arch St. To RSVP, call 203-900-1131. For more, visit theperfectprovenance.com.
